CAT rejects BSNL Officer’s plea for promotion
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  12 Apr 2010

The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has rejected a plea of Deputy General Manager of BSNL seeking promotion to the rank of senior administrative grade (SAG), saying he was found unfit by Departmental Promotions Committee, reports the PTI.

"Promotion is by way of selection and the ACRs of the applicant are almost consistently below benchmark. Looked from any angle, he does not appear to have any case which may need interference by the Tribunal," the CAT, comprising Chairman V K Bali and member R C Panda, said.

The petitioner Daleep K Singh had approached the Tribunal seeking directions to the Department of Telecommunications to promote him to the higher rank.
