Stand alone operator in the Mumbai circle, Loop Mobile announced on Wednesday that it has spent Rs 200 crore towards upgrading it network in Mumbai including addition of 1200 new cell sites as well as deployment of in-building solutions.
The operator however refused to name the vendors involved in the upgrade. It may be remembered that last year ZTE had signed an agreement with Loop Telecom towards rolling out network for the new entrant.
Loop Mobile says that its network is the first of its kind network in Indian metro with reduced carbon footprint as well as deploying Next Generation Software Define Radio (SDR) multi-mode solution.
The upgrade is part of the company’s capex 1 plans.
Commenting on this development, Mr. Sandip Basu, CEO – Loop Mobile said, “Loop Mobile has always strived to consistently upgrade the technology and innovate so as to provide a superior network experience. Our intent is to raise the industry bar on network performance. This additional investment of Rs. 200 crore is just a reiteration of our service commitment to our rapidly growing subscriber base. We undertook a rigorous evaluation in our quest for the best technology that would enable our network to remain cutting edge & world class.” |
