Sony Ericsson launched a new entry-level 3G compatible phone named ‘Cedar’ which also offers quick access to social networking sites.

The access to social networking sites is provided through a feature called Widget Manager 2.0 that allows users to access social networking sites via the stand-by screen.

“Sony Ericsson Cedar™ is the ideal product for consumers who are looking for the perfect balance between a business and social device,” said Timo Maassmann, Global Marketing Manager, Sony Ericsson. “Featuring 3G HSDPA, a 3.5mm jack and a micro-USB port for easy connection to your laptop – the Sony Ericsson Cedar™ is an affordable GreenHeart™ phone which allows consumers to easily connect to their various communities whether it’s for work, fun or play.”

The phone also score on the green quotient by making use of recycled plastics, a low power consumption charger, an e-manual, waterborne paint and compact packaging.
