TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  03 Sep 2010

Nokia received the most trusted brand recognition from the Economic Times- Brand Equity’s annual ‘Most Trusted Brands’ survey for 2010 in India.

The company also found mention in Brand Equity’s ‘Hall of Fame’ to commemorate 10 years of Brand Equity’s Trusted Brand Survey.

Nokia was ranked No.71 in 2005 when it first appeared in the survey, No.44 in 2006, No.4 in 2007, and No.1 in 2008, 2009 and now, 2010.

“For a brand that believes consumer feedback is most important and to be rated the most trusted in a highly dynamic market like India, this recognition is truly special and humbling. This award is testimony to our team’s deep focus and determined efforts to better understand the needs of the evolving Indian consumer and connect with them. Our initiatives for India – ranging from 'made in India, made for India' handsets, services such as Nokia Life Tools and extensive retail and care networks – are proof of the fact that we are continuously striving to make a positive impact on the lives of our consumers. We are excited and further encouraged to uphold our consumers’ confidence in us,” said D. Shivakumar, Managing Director, Nokia India Pvt. Ltd.
