Nokia X with Android OS to launch in India on Monday March 10 at Rs. 8,500

Nokia’s much awaited and much talked Android smartphone Nokia X, that was announced at Mobile World Congress 2014, has finally got its price tag. Indian online portal. TheMobileStore has listed Nokia X for Rs 8500 and would be retailing from10th of March.
 
Nokia X sports a 4 inch IPS screen with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. It is powered by a Snapdragon S4 chipset clocked at 1.5 GHz. It comes with a 3 megapixel camera. The device offers 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal storage, microSD card slot, and 1500 mAh battery.

    
 
On the software front, Nokia X runs a highly modified version of Google’s Android OS. The Finns call it the Nokia X Software Platform. It will lack popular Google services such as Maps. Expect Hangouts to be replaced by Skype, Google Drive with OneDrive, Gmail with Outlook, and Google Maps with HERE. Users won’t have access to the Play Store either, but side-loading apps is possible. Recently, Nokia announced that 75 percent of all Android apps are already compatible with Nokia X.
 
It would be interesting to see the response of Nokia’s first Android smartphone.
