India has a dedicated following of BlackBerry phones. It was the first smart phone that executives and professionals used in India, mainly for accessing email. Many of them still carry their BlackBerry.

Let us see what the new look company from Research in Motion (RIM) to BlackBerry has to offer to its customers.

New Smartphones -

1.) The company will launch full touch-screen smartphone called Z10. It has a 4.2-inch LCD screen with a 1280 x 768 screen resolution. It means 356 pixel per inch. It is powered by a dual-core CPU clocked to 1.5GHz with 2GB RAM. It has 16 GB mass memory. The upper limit of the microSD card is 32GB. The new smartphones will run on its new operating system BlackBerry 10. Some of its features are as follows:

Messenger: The new BlackBerry Messenger offers an option of video-calling as well. It is known for its secure messaging services and is useful for business deals. It has also introduced a new feature that allows users to share their screens with one another while in the middle of a video call. Users can share pics, documents, books, spreadsheets, etc all in real-time. The real-time sharing of screens would appeal to the corporate users who need to share their files, presentations etc.

Social Hub: The company has tried to make its phones social hub friendly by making it easier to manage all their social settings including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn from Social Hub. Now, one can simply slide to the right, go to the Hub and manage all notifications from within this without opening separate apps for each of the services.

Typing: It wants users to type with one thumb. It will also have the ability to delete with a thumb swipe. One can just flip between words, or simply swipe. The keyboard also has built-in multi-language support that’s accessible with a gesture and the phone will recognise when users switch languages in the middle of the email, again a move aimed at markets like India.

BlackBerry Balance: It allows users to split their phone for both work and personal uses. One can divide work apps from personal apps. It makes life easy for both the users and for the office that has issued the phone to its users.

BlackBerry Story Maker: One can aggregate video and music content into one stream.

BlackBerry World: BlackBerry’s new app store. It will have a collection of TV shows, music, movies and according to CEO Heins 8 major studios have signed up for this to provide content for users. It will give BlackBerry consumers the option to buy TV shows, music and movies from BlackBerry World.
