Sony SmartBand SWR10: Features and specifications all you need to know

Sony has launched the fitness-centric, wearable SmartBand SWR10 with Sony Xperia Z2. The SmartBand, priced at Rs 5,990. The band has just one button which has many uses from powering on to shifting modes and creating bookmarks. The core has three small LED lights that shine through the band to show you which mode it is in. The core has to be taken out of the band for charging. The device is not limited to be used only with only Sony phones, but it can run with any Adroid device running on 4.4 KitKat OS and supports Bluetooth LE and NFC technology as well.

SmartBand SWR10 is IP58-certified and can withstand submersion up to up to 5-feet of water for up to 30 minutes. It can also be survive a 10-minute drizzle as well.

The SmartBand weighs, 6 grams and with the strap, the SmartBand weighs, 20 grams. The Smartband not able to feature a display, which means user need a smartphone to view all the data.

One can use it with any compatible Android smartphone running on 4.4 KitKat OS, it will require Sony’s ‘LifeLog’ app.

The LifeLog app is divided into two parts. The upper section contains a colourful visual timeline that shows your daily activities like sleeping, walking, running, travelling, and weather condition is displayed in the background.

                                        

And in the second section, you will see several a grid of colours, users can check how many hours they were engaged in a particular activity and also the non-exercise activities as the device is also capable of tracking the time you spent on the web, social networks, gaming. User can set a goal or time limit for each of the activity.

And also on the other hand it is a standalone tracker, and does not need to be around your smatphone all the time.

The watch looks like the FitBit. This SmartBand is an activity tracker for fitness freaks, and it cannot be called a mainstream smartwatch like Samsung Gear series.
