First Impressions: HTC One (M8) announced for the Indian market for Rs 49900

HTC has launched its much-awaited falgship smartphone One (M8) in India for Rs 49,900 and is expected to be available in the first week of May. It was unveiled at an event in New York and London. It  is the successor to HTC One. It will support LTE services from Airtel and Reliance Jio in India.

The HTC One (M8) comes with a 5 inch full-HD display and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat with the company's brand new Sense 6 UI on top, which HTC is calling the biggest upgrade since Sense debuted. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection to guard against minor scratches and powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB RAM.

The phone will be available in 16GB and 32GB internal storage variants with a microSD card slot that supports cards of up to 128GB capacity. HTC will also offer 65GB of cloud storage space on Google Drive. It has new UltraPixel Duo camera at the back. HTC claims that it captures 300% more light and the second camera lens helps in detecting and separating backgrounds and foregrounds, 5-megapixel front camera and dual-front speakers. The phone packs a 2600mAh battery and supports Nano-SIM.

                          

The phone includes a new version of BlinkFeed, HTC's homescreen utility that brings personalized updates from the user's preferred news sources and social networks. HTC One (M8) will be available in Gunmetal Grey, Amber Gold, and Glacial Silver colour variants.

The HTC One (M8) comes with 90 percent metal body and exudes the same premium feel as its predecessor, the HTC One.

The HTC One (M8) will be available in the US through mobile carriers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon. The HTC One (M8) is currently available only at Verizon while AT&T and Sprint have started taking pre-orders, while in UK it is now available through various online retailers; the Phones4u and CarphoneWarehouse etc.
