True selects Huawei to deploy 3G IP core network
TT Correspondent |  |  05 Aug 2013

True, the only leading fully-integrated communication service provider in Thailand has selected Huawei to deploy its 3G IP core network which will provide millions of True's 3G subscribers with diverse, smoother services using Huawei 400G core router line cards.

This indicates that Huawei leads the 400G router technology in helping carriers construct and evolve future-oriented networks.

With the development of 3G services and extensive usage of intelligent terminals for online video services, there is an explosive growth in data traffic. It is urgent for True, a communication conglomerate offering TV, broadband, mobile, and electronic cash and payment services in Thailand, to optimize its networks, especially, to expand its IP core network' capacity and evolve its IP core network to a future-oriented network to improve its subscribers' experience.

As the industry's only commercially available 400G core router ,Huawei’s core router NE5000E supports flexible networking of 100GE ports, 40GE ports, and 10GE ports to provide a 400G capacity, and can be smoothly evolved to provide a T-level capacity for the backbone network. In addition, tests indicate that the energy efficiency ratio of Huawei 400G line cards is less than 1W/G. This means that carriers can deploy energy-saving networks with larger capacities with less investment.

"Traffic on the backbone network increases explosively as mobile broadband services and video services develop dramatically. It's time for the 400G technology to apply to live networks. Huawei leads the 400G technology and provides solutions that facilitate network capacity expansion and remove bandwidth bottlenecks, helping carriers construct Future-oriented backbone networks," said Gai Gang, President of Huawei Carrier IP Product Line.
