Mukesh Ambani-driven Reliance Jio has tied up exclusively with Xiaomi for its Redmi Go devices. As part of the partnership, customers will get Rs 2200 instant cashback and 100 GB additional data applicable on recharge of Rs 198 and Rs 299. The Redmi Go went on sale starting March 22 across the country. The cashback of Rs 2200, shall be credited in the form of 44 discount coupons of Rs 50 each, in the MyJio App of an eligible subscriber. On Tuesday, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi announced a new manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu, making it the company''s seventh such plant in the country. The manufacturing plant was launched in partnership with Flex Ltd. "We are delighted to announce our new smartphone manufacturing partnership with Flex Ltd. Xiaomi which overtook Samsung to become the leader in the Indian smartphone market, has just invested Rs 3,500 crore into its Indian entity, the highest by the Chinese company since it entered the country over four years back. As per regulatory filings with Registrar of Companies, Xiaomi infused the money into Xiaomi Technology India in two tranches this year: Rs 2,000 crore on March 1 and Rs 1,500 crore on January 17.
