ZTE’s WiMax network reaches 200,000 subscribers in Bangladesh
TT Correspondent |  |  12 Jan 2012

ZTE has said on Thursday that that the WiMax network it implemented in Bangladesh in cooperation with operator Banglalion has reached 200,000 subscribers.

ZTE is the exclusive networking equipment supplier for Banglalion, and helped the operator complete the implementation of the national Bangladeshi network in the span of only one year. The network supports TDD-LTE evolution and uses the telecoms industry’s most advanced large-capacity BTS 48 equipment. Banglaion is Bangladesh’s No.1 WiMax operator.

“We’d like to thank ZTE for its support as the exclusive supplier for Banglalion’s WiMax network. Our customers were pleased by the quality of the network,” said Banglalion CEO Neil Graham.

“ZTE will continue to collaborate closely with Banglalion to maintain high-speed and stable networks with rich services for the Bangladeshi people,” said ZTE Bangladesh Country Manager Sabin Shrestha. “Our aim is to help Banglalion maintain its leading position in WiMax, and to assist it with launching more diverse services such as VoIP, video surveillance and conferencing.”
