ZTE streamlines senior management team for India operations

ZTE, a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, on Sunday announced strategic restructuring of the senior management team at its India operations. 

 

The company has sought to consolidate its operations in India and gear up for strong growth in the country by roping in local Indian talent for key top-level positions.

 

The company has named Kapil Ahuja as the Chief Technical & Marketing Officer for ZTE India and will be directly reporting to Cui Liangjun, CEO, ZTE India. Kapil joins ZTE from Nokia Siemens Network (NSN) and brings with him over 17 years of rich experience across various aspects and domains of the telecom industry.

 

In his new assignment as CTO at ZTE India, Kapil shall be responsible for identifying ZTE India's long-term vision and will play a key role in defining the overall company strategy and driving business value creation for customers by pursuing new market opportunities and forming strategic partnerships. He will lead the technology team and will be responsible for positioning ZTE at the forefront of technological innovations in the industry.

 

As a part of the new top-level management team, Yotesh Sharma has joined as the Sales Head for ZTE India and will be reporting directly to the CEO of ZTE India, Cui Liangjun. Before this he was with Huawei and has over 18 years of rich telecom experience and extensive expertise in establishing a strong sales team. In his new role, Yotesh will head ZTE India’s sales function across all existing and new product lines and will also be responsible for establishing successful long term strategies and partnerships for ZTE’s clients in India.

 

“These appointments demonstrate ZTE’s commitment to localization in the Indian market as it looks at building a strong and capable top management team to take on the challenges of the future.” said Cui Liangjun, CEO, ZTE India 

 

The appointment of Indians at senior management positions is central to and a critical aspect of ZTE’s localization strategy for the Indian market. With this latest initiative, ZTE India’s local Indian workforce strength now stands at 90% of its total strength of over 3500 employees in India. 

 

The company has also named Shuktij Singh as Senior Vice President - IESC (Indian Engineering Service Center). Shuktij joins ZTE from Nokia Siemens Network (NSN) and has over 17 years of rich experience across various aspects and domains of the telecom industry. In his new role, he will be responsible to turn around the service & delivery of ZTE equipments and Network Operations Center (NOC).

 

With over 22 years of telecom experience, Pradeep Kumar Yadav, has been appointed as the Chief Information Security Officer for ZTE India. He joins ZTE from Videocon Telecommunications Ltd, where he served as the Corporate Vice President deploying IT & Network, VAS, Call Center devices and applications for all new circles.
