TT Correspondent |  |  15 Apr 2011

ZTE Corporation, a global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, announced that China Unicom has initiated a HSPA+ network upgrade,

selecting ZTE to build HSPA+ PTN networks.

ZTE claims that China Unicom selected ZTE due to its mature PTN devices, all-rounded solutions, innovations in L3 VPN and highly effective construction capability.

China Unicom will increase its 3G network spending by 24% to $3 billion in 2011. The company will improve networks in 56 cities in 2011 to increase the speed at which users can download videos, games or music by 46%.

ZTE will deploy HSPA+ PTN networks for seven cities including key cities like Changchun, Ningbo and Wuhan to deliver high-speed network access to customers.
