TT Correspondent |  |  19 Aug 2011

Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., one of the top-ranking telecom equipment makers in China, will work with Beetel Teletech to make Beetel Magiq, a 7-inch tablet personal computer (PC), according to SinoCost.

Beetel Magiq, based on the sparkling Android operating system, will support 3G and WiFi network, said a spokesperson for Beetel Teletech, yesterday, describing Huawei as a Beetel Teletech partner for the production of the tablet.

Beetel Teletech, one of the biggest fixed-line telephone makers in India, rolled out the USD 220 Beetel Magiq on Wednesday, in response to a tablet launched by its major rival last month.

India, now the second-biggest mobile phone market in the world, is also the fastest-growing market, winning favor of a bevy of electronics makers around the world. Apple started selling iPad in India this January, several months after Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. made Galaxy Tab available in the country last November.
