  Bharti Airtel on Wednesday said that work is in full swing to restore the network in the western region of Maharashtra. The network outage which was caused by caused by a in its data centre at Malad on Tuesday disrupted services in Mumabia and other parts of the state affecting 36 lakh Bharti Airtel subscribers.
According to a fire official, the fire which broke out on the seventh floor of the building severely damaged electrical installations resulting in the disruption of network.
An Airtel official told Telecomtiger that mobile voice, BlackBerry and SMS services have largely been restored and are stabilizing.
“Mobile voice, BlackBerry and SMS services have largely been restored and are stabilising. We are working towards restoring 2G & 3G data services later tonight. However, for the enterprise services such as IPLC, leased lines, MPLS and Internet services, restoration work is in progress and services are likely to be restored in the next 24 hours,” said Airtel. |
