Huawei showcases 4x4 MIMO carrier aggregation solution for LTE TDD
TT Correspondent |  |  02 May 2012

Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, has showcased the world’s first 4x4 MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) carrier aggregation solution for LTE TDD at the 2012 Global Analyst Summit in Shenzhen, China.

This solution adopts leading 4x4 MIMO technologies and allows the peak data rate for a single end user to reach up to 520Mbps.

At the Global Analyst Summit, Huawei demonstrated cutting edge solutions for terminals and 4T4R (4 Transmitter 4 Receiver) RRUs (Remote Radio Unit). Analysts saw the advanced processing ability of Huawei’s LTE TDD products and solutions with peak data rates of up to 520Mbps.

The growing number of smartphones and use of apps worldwide has led to a mobile broadband market boom. End users now expect high quality mobile data service with higher data speeds, which brings capacity challenges to mobile networks.

In 2011, Huawei announced the GigaSite solution to help operators ease network capacity pressure. The 4x4 MIMO carrier aggregation solution for LTE TDD based on Huawei’s GigaSite concept can meet end users’ demand of higher data speeds.
