The South Korean handset giant LG has launch of its much-hyped G Flex which is claimed to be world’s first curved display smartphone for Indian customers Rs. 69,999

This is costliest Android smartphone launched in India. In terms of price it is even costlier than the Galaxy Note 3 and HTC One Max Apple iPhone 5s, Samsung.

The company said that the device was listed on company’s official website early this month will be available in the Indian stores starting Thursday.

LG Electronics had unveiled G Flex smartphone globally in December, which the company claims is world's first curved flexing smartphone in India.

The smartphones features a 6-inch display which the world's largest Plastic OLED (POLED) display developed and mass pro-duced specifically for smartphones.

It is powered by 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Just like LG G2, the new G Flex has the power key and volume buttons on the back, positioned below a 13MP camera with LED flash. The phone's 3,500mAh battery is also curved.

LG said that the vertically curved design of the LG G Flex reduces the distance between one's mouth to the microphone when the device is held against the ear, as traditional tele-phone handsets used to.

It said that the curved form increases the sound level by 3dB compared to typical flat smartphones. The curved design also offers a more reassuring grip and fits more comfortably in one's back pocket.

The LG G Flex is the first smartphone to apply a "Self-Healing" coating on the back cover. The elastic coating hasthe ability to recover from the daily wear-and-tear scratches and nicks that un-cased smartphones are likely to receive, keeping the G Flex looking newer longer.
