Samsung Galaxy S5 announced in India with no price tag, will be on sale from April 11

Samsung has launched its flagship Smartphone, Galaxy S5, in India on Thursday. Samsung has said that the Galaxy S5 will be priced between Rs. 51,000 and Rs. 53,000. This is for the 16GB version as the 32GB variant will not be revealed yet for Indian market. The company also launched three wearable devices in India, the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit. Both, Galaxy S5 and these wearables were first showcased by the company at this year’s MWC 2014 in Barcelona. The phone will be available in 4 colours: black, white, blue and golden-copper.

The smartphone will be made available in the domestic market from April 11 alongwith global markets. But not revealed the exact price of its new flagship smartphone. But the pre-order will start from March 29.

The Samsung has launched the Exynos-powered octa-core version of the Galaxy S5 in India and not the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, as announced at MWC 2014, this variant revealed for the first time.

Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with a 5.1 inch touchscreen with full HD display at 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. This Super AMOLED display has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The handset comes in 16 and 32 GB internal storage variants, with microSD card expandability up to 64GB.

                  
 
The smartphone has many unique features than all other Samsung handsets including water and dust proof capability. It also comes with a huge expandable storage slot and fingerprint sensor.
 
The Samsung Galaxy S5 has powerful hardware including Exynos-powered octa-core version and 2 GB RAM. It is based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat version.
 
The Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 16 megapixel rear camera with autofocus speed of 0.3 seconds and an advanced High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode. Besides, it can shoot 4K videos. There is a 2 megapixel front camera in Galaxy S5 as well.
 
The Samsung Galaxy S5 also comes with fingerprint sensor. According to Samsung, it can recognise three fingerprints and it takes eight swipes to register the same instead of holding your finger on a certain place. Besides, the nano SIM based Galaxy S5 comes with 4G compatibility; it is compatible with 1800 and 2100 MHz band of LTE - the same band the Indian operators has opted to roll out 4G services in the country.
 
The phone has fifth generation 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, infrared port, micro USB 3.0, USB on the go, DLNA, and WiFi Direct features. It has a 2800 mAh removable battery.
