Panasonic, on Wednesday launched Eluga S, the selfie-focused smartphone under its Eluga series in India for Rs. 11,190. It will be available from the third week of November. Along with Eluga S, the company has introduced a Blink Play feature that automatically initiates a three-second countdown for capturing selfies from the front 5 megapixel camera when the user blinks, says Panasonic.
 
"We are sure that Panasonic's Eluga smartphone range has certainly raised the bar of standard to a great level and has the potential to succeed in the Indian market. This is the third phone is the Eluga series which defines our willingness to embrace new technology in a market like India. As we launch new devices, we will continue to innovate for our customers," said Manish Sharma, Managing Director, Panasonic India.
 
Eluga S features a 5 inch HD IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core processor with 1GB of RAM. It is a dual-SIM device and runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS along with company's Fit Home UI on top.
 
Eluga S sports an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and the 5 megapixels front camera. The rear camera can record full-HD videos of 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second. It also offers 8GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 32 GB using microSD card. The device is 7.9 mm thin and comes with a 2100 mAh battery.
