TDSAT halts BSNL from disconnecting Vodafone Essar from its network
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  03 Apr 2009

Telecom tribunal, TDSAT stayed BSNL notice issued to Vodafone Essar wherein the PSU had mulled disconnecting Vodafone Essar from its network following a dispute of payment amounting Rs 3.54 crore.

BSNL had alleged that Vodafone Essar was routing international calls using its local network thereby bypassing the BSNL network and causing loss of revenue to the PSU. The two parties also had disputes over interconnection payment charges. Subsequently BSNL had issued a notice on March 09, 2009.

Vodafone had thereafter approached the TDSAT. TDSAT has now asked BSNL to reply within three weeks. The tribunal also directed Vodafone to file a rejoinder over that within two weeks thereafter if the company wanted.
