India’s third largest software group Wipro said today it has bagged a nine-year outsourcing contract from Unitech Wireless, reports Reuters.

While the financial details remain undisclosed, the size of the deal is speculated to range between Rs. 2500 crore to Rs 3000 crore and is considered to be among the biggest domestic IT contracts awarded till date.

Within the capacity of the agreement, Wipro Infotech will deploy an array of information technology services to Unitech Wireless, wherein the Norwegian telecom group Telenor holds 62.57 percent stake.

Telenor has licenses to provide telecom services in all of the country’s 22 telecom circles, but is yet to start operations.
