Over 70K lines including CM’s inactive in Kolkata as BSNL’s exchange catches fire

A major fire at BSNL’s 10/2 Hungerford Street exchange resulted in over 70,000 fixed lines and 10,000 broadband connections being disconnected including that at Chief Minister’s residence.

The fire also engulfed 3,000 leased lines and 55 RSUS (Remote Satellite Exchange).
