Tata Communications forges new alliance with Australia’s gotalk for voice outsourcing services
TT Correspondent |  Mumbai |  30 Jul 2009

Tata Communications today announced a new partnership with Australia’s gotalk towards voice outsourcing and network expansion project. Tata Comm will now deploy a voice infrastructure in Sydney, Australia to support gotalk manage its retail and wholesale business units.

gotalk will be able to have improved routing control, call quality and reporting of its international voice services. It will ultimately help gotalk in maintaining operational control over its core routing without owning or deploying any new technology thereby reducing its capex.

gotalk has a significant market share in the Australian and New Zealand prepaid phone card market and carries annually approximately 1 billion minutes of international traffic.

“Since our inception in 2000, gotalk has been committed to delivering the highest quality of service for our retail and wholesale customers,” said Steve Picton, Chief Executive Officer of gotalk. “Tata Communications’ experience in large scale, global network integrations as well as its focus on international voice services and superior expertise in IP enables gotalk to continue to offer our valued customers the most efficient and top quality services available. Tata Communications’ flexible voice network and outsourcing solutions makes them the ideal partner for gotalk.”

For gotalk’s international services, Tata Communications will provide its VTS Prime solution. Tata Communications will also co-brand prepaid calling cards using gotalk’s existing card products and distribution channels.

“Communication providers are increasingly turning to Tata Communications in order to focus more effectively on meeting the challenges and opportunities of their core business,” said Michel Guyot, President, Global Voice Solutions for Tata Communications. “By outsourcing the international voice business to specialized wholesale providers, such as Tata Communications, gotalk has access to the scale, expertise, and infrastructure they need to sustain and expand their business into new markets. We look forward to our continued work with gotalk and our future expansion throughout Australia.”
