Yahoo India enhances email service offerings; mobile medium also gets due consideration

Yahoo India which claims to have a reach of more than 70 % within the email users segment in India has enhanced its email services with an aim to scale up the end-user experience.

“Your favourite email service now comes with additional social and productivity features. You can connect with friends and family, edit and share heavy files, right from you Yahoo! Mail inbox. “These new innovations in e-mail represents our intense focus on delivering superior, personally relevant consumer experiences online,” says Arun Tadanki, Managing Director, Yahoo! India

The new enhancements are incorporated taking into consideration the use of social networking medium by users. Yahoo says the enhancements are part of its Yahoo Open Strategy. 

Subscribers are now able to view updates done by users in their contact list. The attachment size has also been increased from the earlier limit of 10 MB to 25 MB.

Yahoo has also taken into consideration the fact that users nowadays tend to access email through the mobile phones as well. For such users Yahoo will provide a one-click access to check, compose and search email. Moreover, support for downloading attachments such as Microsoft Office documents, PDF files, photos and personal folders have been added.

These enhancements for mobile subscribers will be made available to 400 models with HTML browsers.  

Photo sharing has also become more user-friendly now with new multi-select and drag-and-drop functionality to attach more photos to e-mail, view thumbnail previews and rotate pictures.
