Airtel seeks TRAI intervention to check any predatory pricing by competitors
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  04 Dec 2009

Bharti Airtel CEO Manoj Kohli on the sidelines of the India Telecom 20009 event asked the regulator, TRAI to intervene and keep a check against any predatory pricing resorted to by competitors just to woo subscribers to their fold.

"The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) should look at predatory pricing," said Kohli."Tariffs have to be sustainable in the long-run. Trai should definitely look at predatory pricing, that is tariff lower than the cost structure of operators." Eight new mobile operators have started or about to start services in the country.
