Telenor completes its planned investment in Unitech Wireless

Norway-based Telenor Group announced that it has completed the remaining of its planned investment through a fourth and final transaction of Rs 2,020 crore into Unitech Wireless taking its total ownership in the JV to 67.25 percent at a total investment of Rs 6,120 crore

“According to our plans, this injection of equity will provide Uninor with working capital to continue the roll out of services in new circles, and to secure customer growth in the circles where Uninor is already available,” said Mr Sigve Brekke, Executive Vice-President, and Head of Telenor Group Asian Operations.

“I am very satisfied with the way Uninor services have been received among the mobile consumers in India.”
