Tata DoMoMo partners Gemalto for VAS
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  22 Feb 2010

Tata DoCoMo and digital security player. Gemalto joined hands enabling the mobile service provider to offer range of value added services (VAS) in a simplified way.

The solution will enable the end-user to a one-click access to numerous VAS which will be located in the SIM.

The solution will also allow the operator to keep track of user preference and choice. A content gateway deployed at service provider’s end ensures content update in real time. As an instance the alliance says that if the user selects an ongoing India Sri Lanka Cricket series as an option, then the user will receive all the related content on his mobile phone without having to stream the news from the menu service tab.

Subscribers will also be able to have access to mobile banking, mobile chatting and information on demand services through a user-friendly interface. Users will be able to customize their mobile phones including with wallpapers and ringtones with option to choose between English and Hindi while activating the service.

“We were looking for a reliable partner, with the expertise and capability to implement such a large-scale project,” says Gurinder Singh Sandhu, Head of Marketing at TATA DOCOMO. “Gemalto was able to keep up the challenge and we are very pleased that the deployment of our new services was completed in a timely manner.”

“We aim to support our clients in the roll out of quality new services, while simultaneously simplifying access to these services for their subscribers,” comments Tan Teck Lee, President, Gemalto Asia. “Gemalto is proud to have once again demonstrated its commitment to working closely with operators willing to bring more simplicity and convenience to their subscribers.”
