Samsung launches its ‘bada’ smartphone platform in India

Samsung Electronics launched its ‘bada’ smartphone platform in the Indian market during the ‘Global Developer Day’. The company is aiming to tap the developer community with the new initiative.

 

The platform is based on open-standards and the name ‘bada’ means ocean in Korean language.

 

President& CEO , Samsung South West Asia said , “Consumers no longer see mobile phones as devices for voice communications. Instead, they relate to their mobiles as communication hubs – as personal gateways to communicate with friends, family and the world at large .This is the era of Smart phones and in the new Smartphone era, we are committed to making Smartphones available for everyone.”

 

Some of the salient features of the platform include ‘User-interactive, Service-oriented, Open and configurable.

 

Samsung also launched a new Samsung bada Developer Challenge offering $ 2,700,000 in total prize money with the winner standing a chance to win $ 300,000.
