TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  28 Jun 2010

Canadian CDMA operator, Public Mobile and the Export –Import Bank of China signed a loan memorial towards funding Public Mobile’s CDMA network enhancement to be executed by ZTE.

Under the project ZTE has to deploy over 1,000 base stations with commercial deployment already being commenced in Toronto earlier this year and another commercial deployment scheduled for completion in Montreal by end of June.

“This is a significant deal for both Public Mobile and ZTE,” said Alek Krstajic, CEO of Public Mobile.  “We chose to work with ZTE because of their expertise in technology and commitment to financing.  ZTE provides the world’s top mobile operators with high-quality and high-capacity network performance,” added Krstajic.

“Our work with Public Mobile and their CDMA network is just one example of ZTE’s focus on continuing to increase our resources in the North American market,” said Cheng Lixin, president and CEO, ZTE USA. “We are improving our localization capabilities and delivering customized solutions that leverage our innovation in green technology and provide a lower total cost of ownership based on an operator’s network construction and operation needs.”
