Huawei bags Maxis’ full service network buildout and managed services contract

Malaysia’s Maxis awarded a new next-generation high speed internet network buildout and managed services contract to China’s Huawei Technologies. Post deployment, maxis will be able to offer fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) services.

As part of the deal, Huawei will deliver an end-to-end turnkey services package that includes active and passive equipment, holistic ODN (Optical Distribution Network) designs, and construction management for the construction of Maxis’ Next-Generation High-Speed Internet network.

Maxis’ Chief Operating Officer Jean-Pascal van Overbeke said, “This continues Maxis’ commitment to having the best network in the country, in order to deliver next-generation services which will grow the quality of life. The Next-Generation High-Speed Internet network is part of Maxis’ commitment to providing over 12 million customers with the richer experience, and is integral to delivering an array of products and services which will reach into the areas of commerce, education, health, entertainment and so much more.
