Swipe, on Tuesday launched a new budget smartphone Sense in India for Rs. 9,999. The main attraction of the Swipe Sense is that it comes with a fingerprint reader. The fingerprint reader is located at the rear panel of the device just below the primary camera.
"Swipe Sense is our latest offering that adds an additional layer of security to the pack of rich multimedia and social media features. And keeping our tradition of ensuring affordability, we have priced Swipe Sense at an attractive point that makes it absolutely sensible", said Shripal Gandhi, Founder and CEO, Swipe.
Fingerprint scanner has been seen as a high-end feature in devices such as the Apple iPhone 5s, Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One Max.
The Swipe Sense runs the recent Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. It offers dual-SIM (GSM-GSM) support. It features a 5.5 inch qHD IPS display with 540 x 960 pixels resolution. It is powered with 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. Swipe Sense also comes with an additional 2250 mAh battery in the box, apart from the 2250mAh battery backing the device.
Swipe Sense sports an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 3.2 megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with 8 GB of inbuilt storage, and can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.
For connectivity Swipe Sense supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE and 3G. The smartphone will be available in Black colour variant. |
