Opera releases new browser for Mac systems

Opera Software unveiled a new browser for Apple’s Mac which the company claims is over 10 times more aster than existing versions.

 

The new version includes Mac in mind, enhanced user interface, Cocoa integration, multi-touch trackpad gestures and Growl support. Additionally it also makes use of a new JavaScript engine, Carakan, and the new graphic library, Vega.

 

The browser supports latest web standards such as SVG and HTML 5 video.

 

“To all Mac users who value fast browsing, please meet Opera,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software. “Opera is a consistent performer on even the most congested networks, giving people the fastest browsing experience, coupled with a powerful feature set that is finely attuned to the needs of Mac users.”
