ASUS launches Google Nexus 7 tablet in India, takes on iPad mini

ASUS has launched its much awaited Google Nexus 7 tablet with its 7” display for the Indian market. Nexus 7 is powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, and Jellybean OS.

The Asus Nexus 7 3G version will be available in India for Rs. 21,999 and Wi-Fi variant would be available in India for Rs. 18,999.

It is expected to take on Apple iPad mini which comes with 16GB storage capacity and no 3G data compatibility. It is priced at Rs 21,990 in India. The 32GB iPad mini with Wi-Fi as well as mobile data is available at Rs 35,900 in the country.

It will also compete with Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 whose price has not been revealed. It has been launched but is not yet available.

Nexus 7 is powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, and Jellybean OS. The device comes with a textured tactile design for enhanced comfort measuring just 10.45mm thin and 340g light and featuringAndroid 4.2, which is the latest version of the world's most popular mobile platform. Its 7” display delivers an advanced multimedia experience. It also features the ASUS TruVivid technology with Corning Fit Glass for improved color clarity, scratch resistance and a 178° wide-viewing angle IPS display ensures unrivaled visual acuity.
