Etisalat CEO Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar recognized as telecom leader of the year at MWC

Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar, Group Chief Executive Officer of Etisalat, was honoured as the “Telecom Leader of the Year” by Telecom Review during the 2014 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
 
The award was presented by Toni Eid, CEO of Trace Media and Editor In Chief of Telecom Review.
 
Julfar was appointed Group CEO at Etisalat Group in July 2011, after serving as Group COO between 2006 and 2011.
 
In his role, he oversees the 15 markets in which the company operates, providing a new leadership role to enable Etisalat prepare for the next stage of its evolution within the UAE telecoms market and its further transition into the global telecoms environment.
 
Julfar is responsible for the delivery of the Group’s commercial, technological, financial, business development and overall organisational goals as Etisalat strives to become one of the world’s top telecommunications companies.
 
He began his career at Etisalat in 1986 and served previously as Manager of Customer Service, General Manager of E-Company and more recently as the General Manager for Dubai market in 2005.
 

Julfar sits currently in the GSM Association (GSMA) Board.
