Tata DoCoMo extends reach to Jharkhand

Tata DoCoMo launched its GSM-based mobile services in Jharkhand.

With Monday’s launch, Tata DoCoMo has become operational in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Orissa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Kolkata, Mumbai and the rest of Maharashtra circles, besides Jharkhand (and Bihar). Rest of the circles to be covered by this month are: Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP East, UP West, Rest of West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh.

The company is offering its services under the "pay-for-what-you-use" tariff model with the initial launch phase covering 100 towns and 3,000 villages. The services also cover 436 km state highways and 75 km of railway route & airport. Presently 700 base stations haven been installed in the circle.

Mr Anil Sardana, MD TTSL said, "We are focusing strongly on network superiority, coverage and service offerings. Our network footprint is the largest among all telecom operators in Jharkhand at the time of launch. We have already made large investments in the circle and further expansion in this financial year is on the anvil."

Tata DoCoMo aims to cover the remaining 7 circles namely Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, UP East, UP West, Rest of West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh by this month end.
