Operators express inability to be MNP ready now
TT Correspondent |  New Delhi |  21 Dec 2009

Indian mobile service providers may end up disappointing the consumers as the entry of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) looks likely to be delayed due to inability of operators to make their networks MNP ready.

DoT had asked the operators to be MNP ready by December 31, 2009.

BSNL and MTNL were first to admit that they would not be able to be MNP ready by December 31. 2009.

But on Friday, at a meeting between the operators and the DoT, other operators also expressed inability to be fully MNP ready by the time.
