Detailed Review

Design:

HTC One S has a simple bar design with rounded edges. The HTC One S is bound to grab attention with its 8 mm unibody. The highly durable body is complemented with 4.3 inch AMOLED screen that offers bright display, richer colours and optimum power processing while the gorilla glass layer ensures the screen is protected from scratches. With the help of sensors like the Gyro Sensor, G-Sensor and Digital Compass you enjoy easy toggling between applications. The right side of the phone has volume controls whereas, the left side only has a Micro USB port. On its top it has a power button, a micro SIM card compartment, and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top. Above its screen is usual earpiece and front camera whereas, below the screen has capacitive touch keys. The measurement of the phone is 130.9 mm, 65 mm and 7.8 mm in height, width and depth. The phone fits best in hand and is easy to carry.

terface/OS (operating System):

The key feature of One S is its Quad core processor. HTC One S runs not only on latest Google’s Android operating system 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICE) and with HTC’s own Sense 4. HTC has proved its technology sound with past success and has moved a step further. With both Android 4.0 ICE and sense 4, the handset promises the blazing speed. The interface is very much similar to its flagship One X and is easy to personalize.

Camera:

With an 8 megapixel main camera and VGA front camera, One S assures the quality. It hardly takes a second to start. Even with continuous photo shoots you can easily jump to HD video recording and also while recording HD video it can take photos. The picture quality and the colours remain same even in an indoor shoot. Apart from basic camera features of this segment such as face detection, auto smile capture, and panorama, the One S Capture a photo in the midst of recording HD video and even in continuous shooting mode it captures multiple snapshots.

und/Music:

The One series of HTC comes with Beats Audio technology. So everything you hear on your phone be it music, videos, games or even YouTube you get rich and clear sound.

Audio/Video:

With 1 GB of RAM and 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad core processor, One S delivers uninterrupted audio and video surfing on 3G. We must say it’s as smooth as making a call. It supports aac, .amr, .ogg, .m4a, .mid, .mp3, .wav and .wma audio playback formats and the recording format is .amr. The video supported formats are .3gp, .3g2, .mp4, .wmv, .avi (MP4 ASP and MP3) and the recording format is .mp4.

Memory:

HTC One S comes with in-built 16 GB of memory space and lacks with micro SD card slot. To compensate, HTC has come up with Dropbox that is integrated into HTC Sense. You can automatically save all your photos and videos to Dropbox and can access and share all your pictures directly from the Gallery. Dropbox also makes it easy to edit and share files.

Battery:

With strong Quad core processor the 1650 mAh battery has comparatively less life. This is not what people would have accepted from this powerful phone. Though with general use it delivers good talk time and stand by time, but while on 3G it discharges the battery quickly. So, we cannot say it has a bad battery life but of course not best too.

Features:

The GSM One S comes with GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wi-Fi that ensure you can stay connected no matter where you are. The A-GPS phone comes with Google Maps making driving through the city a hassle-free affair. With the Bluetooth feature you can easily transfer files to and from compatible devices. The HTC One S has a micro USB port for connectivity, a 3.5 mm audio jack and an HDMI port.

Other useful apps you will find on this Android phone include Facebook, Weather Update, and YouTube. The phone also comes with video stabilization, 25 GB Dropbox space, audio recording and the voice input feature.

Conclusion:

The HTC One S is a attractive phone with blazing speed 1.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad core processor and 1 GB RAM. The 8 megapixel camera, Beats Audio sound technology, High Dynamic Range camera mode, Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich and HTC Sense 4 makes device simply superb in the segment. Though non removable battery, no micro SD card Slot and less battery life can let you think once more for this amazing phone. So, we give this phone four star rating.

Comment
i think the author should check up on his facts. Alot of the information is incorrect. for example, the HTC one s uses a snapdragon s4 DUAL CORE processor, not a quad core. also the battery is actually quite good, better than the htc one x.
