Detailed Review

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is a good blend of class and perfection. The device when in hand gives great and rich feel. Its classy QWERTY keypad and 2.8 inch TFT LCD capacitive touch screen is fitted strongly with aluminum sides and the designer glossy battery cover is superb. The dimensions of this phone are 115 mm, 66 mm and 10.5 mm in height, width and depth. It weights 130 gm, which is surely an ease to your hand and its corporate look and feel gives edge to rival touch and type phones.

Bold 9900 hold few dedicated keys across its body. The left side has a USB/charging port and a 3.5 mm earjack. On the top is a dedicated Lock key. The right side has volume controls with mute and pause key. And a user customisable convenience key that is generally used for camera is placed below the volume keys panel. And the bottom part of phone is left bare. There is a sensitive touch optical trackpad that helps you navigate through the phone. The curvy sides of the phone are made with rich Aluminum and provide safety to the device.

The Bold 9900 runs on BlackBerry 7.1 Operating System. And it works with 1.2 GHz QC processor and 768 MB of RAM to support your operation. The interface is easy and quick responsive.

The camera gives HD 720 pixels video recording options. The camera features include image stabilization, Geotagging and extended depth of field. When tested, the image quality was good and the colours came rich and clear on outdoor shoots and the indoor photos were comparatively poor in quality. The big disadvantage in this phone and price range is that it lacks with front facing camera.

The Stand By time on 2G is up to 10 days and up to 9 days on 3G. The music playback time is up to 28 hours with headset usage.

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is an elegant phone with simple design and safety measures. The BBM service offers great performance as always. Instant Messaging, BlackBerry App world and many such applications have done justice to this bold series phone. But, with no front camera and less powerful battery it can give you bitter taste. We give this phone 4 star rating.
